USA LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP
Every GYL player must complete two steps before registering for any program. Here's what you need to do, and why it matters.
RETURNING FAMILIES: USA Lacrosse membership does not automatically renew with your Georgetown Youth Lacrosse (GYL) registration. Check your renewal date before each season and make sure your membership is active before you register. If it's lapsed, your player won't be cleared to participate until it's renewed.

⚠ Save your membership number. You'll need it every season when you register with GYL. Your number appears above your name on all USA Lacrosse mailings, including your magazine label. You can also find it anytime by logging in at usalacrosse.com.
What is USA Lacrosse?
USA Lacrosse is the national governing body for the sport in the United States. They set the rules, establish safety standards, and support programs at every level, from first-time youth players all the way to the U.S. National Team.
Their mission is to grow the game and support every athlete in it.
Why is membership requiired?
Georgetown Youth Lacrosse (GYL) is an affiliated USA Lacrosse program, and that affiliation comes with a requirement that every player and coach must be a current registered member for our team to be covered under USA Lacrosse's General Liability and Excess Liability insurance policies.
That coverage protects your player, our coaches, our volunteers, and GYL as an organization. Without an active membership your player cannot participate in the sport.
What does it cost?
Youth players age 22 and under pay $35 per year. Membership renews annually on the last day of the month you originally joined. For example, if you registered in September, your renewal date is September 30th each year.
What does membership include?
Beyond the insurance coverage that makes your player eligible to participate, membership also includes:

- Access to exclusive training resources and instructional videos
- Discounts through the USA Lacrosse Shop
How do I register?
New and renewing members can register securely online at usalacrosse.com/join.
