Despite having four starting players out Georgetown defeated Reagan 9-8 at the 2:39 mark of the first overtime in a non-district match up at East View High School stadium. It was a pretty series that started with Georgetown’s goalie, Garrett Castleberry, making a clutch save on Reagan’s big gun Ty Gallaway and transitioning it up the field to Tanner Mount. Mount passed to G’town’s Pete Ochoa who dumped it to Garret Quiroz who made a nifty move and stuck it in the net from a yard out to win the game.
As almost always the telltale stat was ground balls where Georgetown edged Reagan 59-50. Leading Georgetown’s scoring were Pete Ochoa (5g) and Garrett Quiroz (2g, 3a, 12gb). Tanner Mount had a solid day with 3 assists and 10 ground balls. Rounding out the game were Jake Gustainis (1g), Lonnie Moses (1g) and Garrett Cockrum (1a). All three of these guys came off the bench to step up for the sidelined players for Georgetown. |
